““The Amish do not carry health insurance. The government respects their principles. Christian Scientists want to heal by prayer alone, and the new health care reform law respects that. Quakers and others object to killing even in wartime, and the government respects that principle for conscientious objectors. By its decision, the Obama administration has failed to show the same respect for the consciences of Catholics and others who object to treating pregnancy as a disease.”—

EXCEPT
those groups do not force everyone else to pray their sickness away, they aren’t pushing blood transfusions to be illegal for everyone, they don’t insist that NO one enlist, they do not call for the end to all health insurance…. they follow their beliefs and they don’t push them on anyone else.
The anti-choice movement isn’t concerned with what they are able to do but what everyone else can do too. If you want to follow the likes of the Quakers, more power to you but that would mean conceding to the point the pro-choice movement and movements for equality have been calling for… if you don’t like abortion, don’t have one, if you don’t like gay marriage, don’t get gay married and let the rest of us follow our own paths without the intervention of YOUR religion.
okay at this point i have to say, i have no idea WHY you follow me. We clearly disagree on almost everything.
And we aren’t forcing anyone else to adhere to our beliefs. If you don’t like Catholic beliefs, don’t work for a Catholic organization. Don’t patronize them if you hate it so much.
Once again, I’m not Catholic, but I am very concerned at the government’s disregard for Catholics with this new...
No that’s the thing religion shouldn’t get a free pass from any law none of these things should really be happening...
